during the day and crazy nightlife after nightfall.
The idea of the
whole spectacle is
..don't think - have fun !!
Along Patong beach road
and the small roads branching off
the real
helter skelter is on. Many people try to
carve out a niche where they could put something
on display and have some sales. This is on day
and night, now a little bit more regulated since
at about 2 am its time to close. The people move
back into their Patong
resort, hotel or
apartment. Patong resort &
spa are plenty,
practically every up market Patong hotel has a
splendid spa. Patong beach as badly hit by the
Tsunami, more about the Tsunami further below.
Patong accommodation
are available in every range from around Baht
4000,- for e cheap apartment with a fan to
luxury hotels for up to Baht 20.000,- and more,
currently (2011) Patong villas are in high
demand. Patong nightlife is the most vibrant
Phuket nightlife, plenty of Patong bars,
restaurants, disco and other nightlife venues
make available what you want. That includes
girls and guys.
Late morning the
first sun seeker are out on Patong beach, maybe
with a hang over from last night since beer is
cheap, a small bottle of Heineken is usually
only about baht 80,- in the bars, this moves down to baht
60,- for the local beer Singh and beer Chang.
Most of the time
the weather is great, from November to May
its even greater and there are so many girls
around, its a man's worlds out at Patong. Some early out
guys do some jogging along the beach and
some fat ugly women from Isaan quarrel over where to place their
deckchairs and some mats to place the foreigners
in the afternoon for massage. Beach massage is

Phuket Island is a tropical destination and the
epicenter is Patong beach providing the
traveler with plenty of amusement, fun, adventure, beaches,
great food, marvelous Phuket beach resorts, nightlife, bars
and Thai bar girls. All this culminates into the center |

and that is Patong beach one of the great destinations in
worldwide travel.
There are no ancient ruins but there is some wild jungle
on this beautiful island located in the Andaman Sea, a part
of the Indian Ocean. On the cultural side plenty of Buddhist
monasteries and Buddhist temples are to be explored, a
center of Buddhist religion and culture. Phuket and the
“hinterland” of Patong beach which is the district called Kathu is
a fertile area with coconut- and rubber plantations.
Maybe you like a
lift with a parachute via pulling with the
speedboat, do a ride with the jet ski, this
is regulated and limited now after plenty of
terrible accidents happen, of the type run over
the head etc. and sometimes nobody claims the body
afterwards.
Just below the
horizon of Patong Beach is a huge cruise ship,
some sail boats are already around and some
people swim and snorkel. Small travel agent
offices are around everywhere at Patong beach to offer
daytrips for diving and snorkeling plus live
aboard excursions into the
island world of the Andaman Sea, mainly north of
Phuket at places like the Similan Archipelago, Surin |

There is also some tropical forest left, but not much,
they cut down anything for quick money. The majority on
Phuket Island is naturally Thai, but during the high tourist
season people from northern Thailand, the provinces around
Phuket and myriads of foreign tourists take over. On Phuket
island are numerous tourist attractions for the other people
who not just hang around at the beach and slurp beer 24/7.
There are several small museums and art galleries in
Phuket town, one museum,
among others, explains about the tin business of the past
which just preceded the tourist business, actually there was
somehow like a public voting when the decision had to be
made in which direction to got after the tin mines got
depleted, the two ideas were industry or tourism, we now
today the result.

There is still some nature left on the island but the real
thing is under hood, the hood here is the water surface

Patong is the center of gravity of anything focusing on
pleasure, beach live, restaurants, discos, entertainments

beaches and tourist entertainment by any means, but if you
have enough of Phuket beaches have a look for some
waterfalls, golf courses or take a daytrip into the vicinity
of Phuket such as Phang Nga Bay and / or the islands around
Phuket in the emerald waters of the Andaman Sea. This are
ideal holiday spots to relax and just let the legs dangle,
good for the individual traveler and also the whole family.

strange philosophy around here, most people wont
care about anything, everyone let his "pig" out, no
joke.
At about
lunchtime at Patong beach all good beach
deckchairs are taken for the day and the fat women
from Isaan take a nap under the tree. Some of them
try to make some Thai massage business with the
foreigners. |

Luckily the Phuket Tsunami
hit
in the morning and
not afternoon, if the flood came in in the
afternoon that would have brought a massacre
since Patong Beach was more or less the worst
hit area on Phuket island due to the underwater
topography. The engy of this "waterwall" was
really amazing considering all this turned
trucks and buses.

Just on the
opposite side of the Patong Beach road are
myriads of restaurants. Thai
restaurants are the majority naturally, but also
all kind of fast food of the
McDonald type. Plus textile and
cloth shops, other shops selling
CD's, DVD's dirt cheap and all kind
of
fake Nike and other brands shoes and
hand bags. Copy watches of Rolex on
other brands imported from China are
offered on every "second" corner.
Patong Beach massage is very
popular among the tourists relaxing
on the beach. Almost all Patong
massage ladies are from somewhere in
northern Thailand. Tough fat middle
aged women with a strong and steady
grip. They treat you for an hour,
after you need 2 hour to relax from
the massage.

further into the concrete and makeshift shelter
from wood, plastic and metal sheets, jungle are
plenty of other bars and noodle stalls. In between are
jewelry shops, bookshops and some Thai guys
who try to place some strange creatures of the
small dragon type on your shoulder, make a photo
and give some money is their message. At about 3 pm the
first guys with the red skin already hang around
in the small bars and get
their first beers uploaded
Along Bangla Road
it gets busy , the TV screams,
the DVD bang out the latest English songs and
also the first Patong bar girls move in on a early hunt
for "farangs", most of the Thai ladies are
here for business.

girls usually are not from Phuket most
are from somewhere in northern Thailand, the
idea is get as far away as possible from the
hometown of the Patong bar girls to make
sure nobody can discover them.

disappears, darkness creeps in and
the nightshift starts with thousands
of Patong bar girls.

The
center of Patong
(video) nightlife gravity
is Bangla Road, at daytime full
of delivery pick up's, coming to
life after 8 pm. Patong bars, go go
nightclubs, open air bars along the
road and the alleys branching off
Bangla Road.
Every
evening probably around 5.000 ladies
and young guys from
all over Thailand over their
services to thousands of tourists
from all over the world.
Dozens of mini-skirted ladies parade
along Bangla Road,
Patong beach main
fun zone. Some "farang" have a
little flirt with them, sometimes
followed by action in one of the
many cheap hotels behind the eastern
end of Bangla Road. Others stare
glumly into their Heineken beers or

well-known songs through their
speakers,
the
problem is, every bar do their own
music
which quickly become a acoustic
disaster,
sometimes it needs some earplugs,
many people don't know when enough
is enough.
