- Ao Nang has a great natural
coast scenery.
Ao Nang Beach resort area is the main
tourist spot in Krabi province, at Krabi Town
is not much to see beside the everyday life for
the locals.
The highlight of Ao Nang is Railay Beach at Phra Nang Bay on
Railay peninsula.
Easy to access when coming on the
road from Phuket and Phang Nga. Just drive straight at the
intersection where the bypass road to Trang turns left, after a few
kilometers
you will see the road sign pointing to the right towards Phra Nang
or Ao Phra Nang.
To reach Phra Nang and Railay Beach
its sometimes difficult since the different road signs for Phra Nang
or Ao Nang pointing in different directions. Just
keep on driving towards the sea and you will end up there. Near this road is also the Sheraton
Hotel Krabi and a few other four and five star Krabi hotels and Krabi
Beach Resorts.
If you come with the ferry from Phi
Phi Islands you will end up directly at Phra Nang Bay or Ao Nang since the
ferry stop at this great Thailand beach. No drive to some parts of Railay beach as the limestone cliffs
are in between, just hire a longtail boat at the waterfront where the road end, its about 200 -
300 baht for a roundtrip. The boatman will show you Railay
Beach west and Railay Beach east at Ao Nang, if you want to
stop at one the sandy beaches just tell, its a real beautiful
tropical beach environment with lush green scenery and warm emerald
colored waters.
Along Ao Nang Railay Beach east and west
are plenty of Beach Hotels, Railay Beach Resorts, like
Railay beach resort, Railay bay resort, Railay beach club
and plenty of bungalows on the beach.
Ao Nang or Ao Phra Nang is a
rather small seaside village, the main street is along the beach, at
one side are shops, restaurants, Ao Nang hotels and resorts, Thai
bars

you can get everything there what you
need in your Krabi vacation. If you want to do a short trip maybe to
Railay Beach east and west take one of the long tail boat’s waiting
at the beach at the other side of the road. Although the beach here
is not bad try to hire a boat and have a look for Chicken Island
which is a Krabi Island not far off, the beach and view there is
much better and existing, also the sand is great.
The long tail boats will take you also to any other places you want
to see off shore. Accommodations of all kind, from expensive hotels
to cheap beach huts are around, have a Thai massage or rent a
motorbike, its all there. If you are in search for the luxury high
end stuff try the Krabi Sheraton a few kilometers to the north.
The
limestone formations are so unbelievable and unique it got Krabi
and the Railay area a great reputation for great vacation or
holidays, rock climbing and the right place to have a good time. The right location for your
Railay vacation or holiday or maybe just a Railay day trip since Railay beach
Thailand at Phra Nang Bay has one of the most
spectacular beach scenery on this planet, as you can see in this
Railay photos and pictures here. Ton Sai is the most frequented
climbing spot in the area, there are some more climbing
spots in secluded areas check with the shops if you want explore
them, they will arrange it for you.

around the peninsular when start at Phra
Nang Bay plus other places, also on
the islands just off Railay Beach. If you are out for a
limestone cliff climb just check with one of the shops selling climbing
gear they also give lessons at various
skill levels.
The
Beach area is also the primary Krabi nightlife spot but
its rather quiet and the hanky panky glitter night business such as like in
Phuket is minimal. Krabi and Railay Beach at Phra Nang Bay is a more family oriented quiet atmosphere.

Ao Nang beach at Ao Nang Bay has a couple of beach
resort but the beach paradise starts further south at
Railay Beach. Several great beach resorts, a nice beach village
and
bungalow on the beach. Surrealistic cliffs border the beach,
its a incredible holiday beach.

comes in
various forms, since there is no real convention how to
spell this there are variants like, rai lay beach, rai leh
beach and Railay Beach. Aside of the usual beach life Ao Nang beaches are
perfect as rock climbing beach with good sand on the beach.
Ao Nang is a great sea beach but no sunrise beach,
rather a sunset beach but for sure one of the real good Thai
beach or Thailand beach.
Tropical beaches in Thailand are plenty but can hardly
compare to Railay beach as you can see in this Ao Nang photo
and pictures here.
At my experience only some beaches at Similan Islands,
Ang Thong Marine National Park, Phi Phi Islands, Trang
Archipelago and the islands in the Tarutao Archipelago like
Ko Lipe can match.
Krabi is a real great vacation spot, on top of it
everything is quite cheap. Especially food, restaurants and
transportation have low prices and the quality is quite
good.
That's the same with the Krabi hotels and other
accommodation. For about US 20,- to 30,- a good hotel room
can be found. Want to stay longer ? Rent a Krabi apartment
for around $ 150,- per month and up.
